How to Support Liz

I’ve performed at 40+ nursing homes and adult day programs. Your donation helps me reach more seniors who rarely get visitors.

Bringing Music, Dignity & Joy to Seniors and Students With Disabilities

For 10+ years, I’ve performed at nursing homes and adult day programs, using music to spark joy, memory, and connection. What began as a college passion has grown into a full mission to bring music to people who are too often forgotten.

Since 2025, I’ve also had the honor of teaching music for The Arc of Virginia here in Charlottesville, where I lead weekly music programs for adults with disabilities.

How My Program Grew

In 2020, I began collecting unique instruments to share with my senior friends from autoharps to world-music percussion because I saw how much confidence and delight they created.

When I learned the autoharp myself, I knew instantly it was perfect for students with disabilities. That belief led me to The Arc, where I’ve been teaching ever since.

My students blossomed. Their confidence grew. And I realized something important:

It’s not enough for me to bring joy I can teach people how to create their own joy, whether I’m in the room or not.

Why I’m Raising Funds

This year, I started teaching music notation so my students can gain real musical independence.
To do that well, each student needs their own instrument, not just the shared ones I’ve collected over the years.

I’ve selected a wonderful color-coded, sectional xylophone brand whose:

  • tones are warm and high-quality

  • pieces remove for simple learning

  • carrying case doubles as a stand for music cards

  • colors help with notation, memory, and autonomy

Your support helps me purchase a full classroom set so every student can learn confidently and with dignity.

What Your Donation Supports

  • Live music for seniors

  • Color-coded xylophones for each student

  • Individualized music notation cards

  • New adaptive instruments for seniors

  • Supplies for nursing home sing-alongs

Every dollar makes a real, direct impact on seniors and adults with disabilities.
