Four Week Boot Camp

  • Week 1 Music Theory Review

In order to learn songs on a deeper level, an understanding of music theory is essential. In the first week we will review common chord progressions, scales and intervals in all 12 keys.

  • Weeks 2 & 3 Electives

Each student will have their own individual strengths and weaknesses. For the second and third weeks we will choose two electives to focus on. Some elective choices include hand coordination, memorization, rhythm and tempo etc.

  • Week 4 Practice Techniques

Mindful practice is the key to being a successful musician. During this week we will discuss strategies for practice that yield better results.

Why work with Liz

I am Pianist with a background in IT at Microsoft. During my time at Microsoft, I learned how to explain complex topics to people from all over the world. This gave me a keen sense for communication and problem solving.

I created the Boot Camp to fill a void in the music education space. Musicians need more than weekly song learning assignments. They need someone to truly hold them accountable and they need to learn the strategies that professionals use to prepare for gigs. Boning up on theory, analysis and practice techniques helps build confidence in the students and empowers them to work independently.

Professionally, I taught piano and voice at the British International School of Charlotte. I’ve performed at the Myers Park Country Club, The Art House Museum, Flutes Wine Shop, The Harvey Gantt Center and various nursing homes and venues throughout Texas, North Carolina, Maryland and Virginia.
